5-Minute Flowers

These flowers can be crocheted in a few minutes.

There are three different petal styles to choose from and colours are limited only by the leftover yarn you have at your disposal.

Materials needed:

  • 10mm Crochet Hook - — move up to a larger size if your work is too solid or stiff
  • Blunt-ended large yarn needle
  • Left over lengths of T-shirt yarn

Stitches used:

ch - chain stitch, dc - double crochet, tr - treble crochet, dtr - double treble crochet, slst - slip stitch, mc - Magic Circle

FLOWER 1 — CURVED PETALS

Foundation:

  1. ch5 , join with ss to form ring

Round 1:

  1. ch1
  2. 10dc into ring 3. Join with ss

Round 2:

  1. all in same st - ch3, tr, dtr, tr, ch3
  2. dc in next dc
  3. all in same st - 1dc, ch2, tr, dtr, tr, ch2, 1dc
  4. dc in next dc
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 three more times
  6. Join with ss and finish off

FLOWER 2 — FLAT PETALS

Foundation:

  1. ch5, join with ss to form ring

Round 1:

  1. ch1
  2. 10dc into ring 3. Join with ss

Round 2:

  1. all in same st - ch3, 3tr, ch3
  2. dc in next dc
  3. all in same st - 1 dc, ch2, 3tr, ch2, 1dc
  4. dc in next dc
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 three more times
  6. Join with ss and finish off

FLOWER 3 — POINTED PETALS

Foundation:

  1. ch5
  2. Join with ss to form ring

Round 1:

  1. ch1
  2. 10 dc into ring
  3. Join with ss 

Round 2:

  1. all in same st - ch4, dtr, ttr
  2. ch6
  3. dc in each of next 2dc
  4. all in same st - ch3, dtr, ttr
  5. ch6
  6. dc in each of next 2dc
  7. Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 three more times
  8. Join with ss and finish off
